Counselling Information

Counselling Services

BeSolace provides professional counselling services designed to support emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and positive change. As part of providing counselling, relevant personal information is collected and recorded to support assessment and the counselling process. All information is handled in accordance with ethical and legal obligations.

Nature of Counselling

Counselling is a collaborative and professional relationship focused on understanding your experiences and supporting meaningful change. Your openness, honesty, and active participation play an important role in achieving positive outcomes.

Risks and Benefits

Counselling may support improved coping skills, insight, emotional regulation, and wellbeing. At times, exploring personal experiences may bring up uncomfortable emotions or temporary distress. Sessions will always proceed at a pace that feels safe and respectful for you.

Voluntary Participation

Participation in counselling is entirely voluntary. You may decline any activity or technique at any time and may end counselling whenever you choose. While a final session is encouraged for reflection and closure, it is not required.

Telehealth Counselling

Counselling sessions may be conducted via secure video conferencing or other remote communication platforms.

By engaging in telehealth services, you acknowledge that:

  • Telehealth uses technology such as video conferencing or online communication tools.

  • While telehealth offers accessibility and convenience, technical disruptions may occur.

  • A secure platform with encryption and security measures is used to protect your privacy to the best of reasonable ability.

Technical Difficulties

If a technological issue occurs during a session (such as loss of connection), you will be provided with instructions to reconnect or an alternative way to continue the session where possible.

You may withdraw consent for telehealth services at any time and request in-person sessions if available.

Confidentiality

All personal information shared during counselling is kept private, confidential, and securely stored.

Confidentiality may only be broken in the following circumstances:

  • When required by law or subpoenaed by a court

  • If there is a serious and imminent risk to your safety or the safety of another person

  • When you provide written consent for information to be shared with another professional or agency (e.g. GP, lawyer, employer)
